Cameras x Gear

Photography is as much about the experience as it is about the final image. Over the years I’ve gravitated toward a small collection of cameras that each offer a different way of seeing and working. Some are modern digital tools built for speed and flexibility, while others are slower, more deliberate film cameras that encourage patience and intention.

Digital

For digital work, I primarily use the OM SYSTEM OM-3 and the Leica Q3.

The OM-3 is my versatile everyday camera. Its compact size and rugged build make it ideal for travel, street photography, and spontaneous moments when I want to move quickly without carrying heavy gear. The system’s stabilization and lenses allow me to work confidently in a wide range of conditions.

The Leica Q3 is my camera for when I want simplicity and precision. With its fixed 28mm lens and full-frame sensor, it encourages a focused way of shooting—less about changing gear and more about composing thoughtfully. The rendering and detail it produces make it a favorite for street scenes, environmental portraits, and documentary-style photography.

Film

Alongside digital, I also shoot film whenever I want a slower and more intentional creative process.

The Yashica MG-1 is a compact 35mm rangefinder that I enjoy using for casual shooting and everyday moments. Its simplicity and quiet operation make it perfect for street photography and travel.

For medium format work, I shoot with the Kowa Six, a classic 6×6 camera known for its beautiful optics and large negatives. Shooting medium format forces a slower pace, but the reward is incredible detail and tonal depth—especially when paired with films like Portra, Gold, or Ektar.
